About Ilana Garsin, AcupuncturistA little bit about me! Well, I am a degree educated acupuncturist practising acupuncture in Elstree and Borehamwood in Hertfordshire. I have been servicing the local communities in surrounding areas such as Mill Hill, Shenley, Radlett, Edgware and Stanmore for several years.
I came to acupuncture as a patient after suffering with glandular fever many years ago. I was impressed that, not only did acupuncture aid my recovery, but it also helped my IBS, sinusitis and hayfever, which I had been unable to resolve for years. I left each treatment feeling relaxed, revitilised and rejuvenated!
My first degree was in Molecular Biology, but I loved acupuncture so much I ended up completing a second four year BSc Hons degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture. It was definetly the right career move!
There is never a day that I don't enjoy stepping into my clinic and it is a heartwarming feeling to watch a patient improve their health week after week and see their smiles return.
New patients often arrive to my clinic nervous and unsure if acupuncture is for them. They are often scared of the thought of needles. One of my priorities, as a caring and sensitive practitioner, is to put them at ease. I like patients to direct the speed of the consultation themselves, which means they can feel comfortable during their treatments.
Professionalism is important to me and as such I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the UK’s largest regulatory body for practitioners of traditional acupuncture. I adhere to the Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct and hold full medical malpractice insurance cover. In addition, I continue to expand my knowledge by taking courses in different acupuncture specialities such as fertility and facial acupuncture.
